Meeting of the Minister of Foreign Affairs with the Acting UNESCO Assistant Director-General for Natural Sciences

On October 5, 2026, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Muhriddin met with Abou Amani, Acting UNESCO Assistant Director-General for Natural Sciences.

The meeting focused on the implementation of the Decade of Action for Cryospheric Sciences 2025–2034, preparations for the 2028 United Nations Water Conference in Dushanbe, and further cooperation between Tajikistan and UNESCO in the fields of water, glaciers and science.

The sides also exchanged views on UNESCO’s engagement in Tajikistan’s international initiatives, including the International Decade of Strengthening of Peace for Future Generations (2027–2036).
